The mission is to be a proactive body supporting the other MNEIS sub-committees in their work by monitoring proposed election legislation and proposing new election legislation in Minnesota, federal, and in other states.
The mission:
- Monitor all proposed and passed election legislation in MN and report the status and analysis of such legislation to the MNEIS Steering Committee. Time frame: ongoing
- Monitor all proposed and passed election legislation at the United States Capitol and report the status and analysis of such legislation to the MNEIS Steering Committee. Time frame: ongoing
- Monitor all proposed and passed election legislation in other states and report the status and analysis of such legislation to the MNEIS Steering Committee. Time frame: ongoing
- Analyze the findings of other MNEIS subcommittees that may become the genesis of new legislative ideas for the Minnesota Legislature to consider by creating new law. Time frame: before the next legislative session
- Recommend to Minnesota lawmakers and credible stakeholders, potential legislation to improve, solidify and clarify current election laws. Time frame: before the next legislative session
- Provide testimony in front of legislative bodies to educate regarding election integrity issues and potential legislation.
