MNEIS – Minnesota Election Integrity Solutions

MN Voter Information Verification Service

Welcome to the Minnesota Election Integrity Solutions (MNEIS) website’s Voter Information Verification Service. The purpose of this service is to enable you to verify your voter roll information to ensure its accuracy and up-to-date status.

As you are aware, accurate and reliable voter rolls are fundamental to trustworthy elections. Recently, numerous states’ voter rolls have been subject to legitimate criticism. We strive to enhance the trustworthiness of elections in Minnesota and believe that each voter can effectively contribute to reliable elections by verifying their personal information and that of their family. This process can rectify inaccuracies in addresses, voter status, duplicate records, deceased voters, and voter histories. If you have relocated and changed your registration, it may be beneficial to ascertain whether you are still registered at your previous address.

County election officials are accountable for maintaining accurate voter rolls, and any errors should be promptly reported to them. Should you require assistance in reviewing or reporting an error, we will be pleased to provide support. Kindly send an email to INFO@MNELECTIONINTEGRITY.ORG

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes!  This is public information.  MNEIS is the first (that we know of) to provide this free service for MN voters to check their data.

Unfortunately not.  The UOCAVA (Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act) data is not included on the state voter roles.

If you are in the military or an over seas voter, you will need to use the Absentee Ballot/Mail Ballot Tracker on the state’s website:  https://mnvotes.sos.mn.gov/abstatus/index

Check to be sure that your data is correct:

  • Check that your name (First, Middle, & Last) is correct.  Did you have a name change?  Check both.
  • Be sure to click “Show More Details” after you log in to see all your data.
  • Is your address current?  Is your address formatted correctly? Are you listed in the correct precinct?
  • Voting history and voting method.  Did you vote in person (P), Absentee (A), or Mail-in (M)?  Maybe you haven’t voted in awhile – check to see if somebody else voted for you.
  • Year of Birth.  MN only records your year of birth (not the day or month).  Just check to be sure they have it correct.
  • Registration date, which may be when you initially registered to vote, or if you updated your drivers license, moved, or had a name change, the registration date may have been updated  to reflect the date of that change.
  • Did you sign up to have absentee ballots automatically mailed to you?

It is important to remove deceased voters from the roles to prevent somebody else from voting for them.  Please see links on the bottom of this page for more information on how to report a deceased voter.  We suggest contacting your local election office/auditor for their specific procedures or requirements. You may need to fill out this Report of Deceased Voter Form to give to your elections office.

Using the Check My Vote tool is a great way to check to be sure that if you have moved FROM Minnesota to another state, that you are not still listed on the MN voter roles.

If you just moved TO Minnesota, be sure to not only check your MN data, but also check the records of your previous state so that you are removed from that state’s voter roles so nobody else votes for you there.

Even if you moved years ago, in an effort to clean all voter roles, please check.

Yes, using “Check My Vote”, people who voted in-person can now check to see if their vote counted.

While the state does offer a way for absentee and mail-in voters to check to see if their vote was counted, the result is either “yes” or ‘no”, and does not offer any other data. The state currently does not provide an online option for people who vote in-person to check to see if their vote was counted.  We believe that voting information should be available to all voters, no matter which method they chose to vote.  Unless you purchased the voter data directly from the state, there was no easy way to check your voter data, until now.

Simply access the “Check My Vote” tool to check your data.

Feel free to contact us if you have questions or need help.

Corrections to your voter data should be made at your local county election/auditor’s office.  County offices work hard to be sure that their voter lists are correct and up to date.   If you are unsure of how to contact your local elections office, click here for a list of all county offices.

MNEIS can assist you if you need help or have questions.  Just let us know.

Be sure that are you are entering your name as it was registered on the voter roles.  For example, if your first name is Bill, but your name was registered as William, there will not be a result for Bill.   Also, be sure that you are entering the correct zip code.   If you cannot find your data, let us know so that we can help.

The best way to update or correct your voter data is to contact your local county election office.  They work hard,  take pride in keeping accurate voter roles, and will appreciate your help.
